Junghans darkroom / laboratory / sports timer, made in Germany circa 1950’s

This is a Great Junghans darkroom / laboratory / sports timer, made in Germany circa 1950’s.

An unusual, rare piece from this renowned maker of high quality timepieces.

A Fantastic design, very industrial and modernist. The large easy to read clock face in matte grey with white markers and numbers, and white and yellow hands is very reminiscent of the iconic designs by Max Bill for Junghans during this period.
All housed in a gun metal grey housing, which sits on a wooden plinth, also in grey!

On top are the three buttons for start, stop and reset, in red, white and green, very simple and pleasing design.

Wind up mechanism, key on back, all working perfectly.

Would make a Fantastic decorators / designers piece for any retro, vintage, antique, Art Deco, Modernist, Bauhaus, mid century, industrial, minimal or modern styled interior.

Ideal upcycle project, could be stripped back to bare metal or repainted in the colour of your choice, even fit a new clock mechanism for practical use.

Great Condition, the clock face and glass are perfect. Some paint loss around edges, but adds to the character and vintage industrial aesthetic.

Measures 23 x 21 x 7cm / 9 x 8.25 x 2.75in.
