Scavo Art Glass Vase, made by Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Murano, Venice, Italy circa 1970’s

This is a Beautiful Art glass vase, made by Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Murano, Venice, Italy circa late 1970’s.

A Wonderful minimal piece that showcases the craftsmanship and special techniques used by the master craftsman glassblowers of Murano.
Made using the Scavo technique this “frosted glass” was introduced in the 1950’s in order to obtain an archeological effect typical of objects found underground after a very long time.During blowing a mixture of several powders, by the glass artist
are fused at a temperature of about 800°C on the surface of the glass vase.

This aged rough look combined with the traditional form give the piece a Postmodern look, referencing the classical in a modernist contemporary way. Very minimal and space age!

A Stunning piece, it catches the light beautifully with a diffuse glow, would look stunning with bright flowers, or on its own as a sculptural piece of art glass.

Would complement any retro, vintage, minimal, modernist, postmodern, 70′;s, 80’s or contemporary styled interior.

In Excellent Condition no marks, chips or scratches, still bears the original Seguso label.

Vintage red Hoptimist Bimble, designed by Hans Gustav Ehrenreich, Denmark circa 1969

This is a Great Vintage Original Hoptimist Bimble toy, designed by Hans Gustav Ehrenreich, Denmark circa 1969.

A Classic of Danish Modern design from the 1960’s, the Hoptimist range comprised of cute Space Age / Pop Art styled figures with round heads and springs for bodies. The Bimble Hoptimist has a bright red plastic head and minimal detailing just a round ball nose and painted graphic eyes, one winking. With its metal spring body and standing on elliptical metal feet it exemplifies pared down Danish Modern design.

Its name is suggestive of its spring form, which bobs and nods when moved and of the optimistic times of the late Sixties, it definitely has a sense of fun and a quirky nature.

An Iconic Nordic design that would look great on any desk or as a toy for kids or grown ups alike! Would make a great addition to any collection of Danish design and would complement any retro, vintage, mid century modern, minimal or contemporary interior.

In Great Condition still bobs away on its spring, some marks and wear to the paint, especially on the spring, could be repainted if wanted. There is a small hole in the top of the head that probably had an attachment originally, nothing to detract from the great vintage look!

Miniature Italian pottery jug / vase, with Giraffe and Cockerel, made in Deruta, Italy circa 1960’s.

This is a Beautiful miniature Italian pottery jug / vase / collectable, made in Deruta, Italy circa 1960’s.

A Wonderful cute and unusual example of Italian Mid Century ceramics, this tiny decorative jug has a lovely exaggerated form, the stone colored body has a pale blue handle. It is ornately / kitschly decorated with images of a flower, leaf, cockerel and a giraffe! With a final zig zagged icing of a white tube lined glaze!

Deruta is a town in the Umbria region of Italy, with many small studio potteries that produced pieces in this style, characterised by reddish clay, matte glazes, stylised drawings and white tube lined detailing.

Would make a Great addition to any collection of Italian / European / Mid Century pottery, and would complement any retro, vintage, 50’s / 60’s, kitsch, shabby chic interior.

In Excellent Condition, no marks, chips or scratches. Handpainted / marked to the base ITALY 3509 .

Walter Bosse brass Giraffe ‘Black-Golden Line’ figure, made by Baller, Austria circa 1950’s

This is a Lovely Walter Bosse brass Giraffe figure, made by Baller, Austria circa 1950’s / 60’s.

A Classic design of the mid century modern era, the simple stylised cartoon like form of a Giraffe, designed by Walter Bosse a master craftsman and designer of animal figures, during the golden age of Vienna bronzes.

From the ‘Black-Golden Line’ series, the miniature brass figurines were given a black finish with polished areas using the ‘Patination’ technique.

Would make a Great additon to any collection of Walter Bosse / Baller / Animal / Brass figures. Perfect as a desk accessory / paperweight, or to decorate any vintage sideboard / mantelpiece or coffee table.

Vintage Condition, the black patination is very worn, could be stripped to the brass, or repainted.

Set of 4 handled bowls by Robert Picault, Vallauris, France circa 1950’s / 60’s

These are a Beautiful Set of 4 handled bowls by Robert Picault, Vallauris, France circa 1950’s / 60’s.

Vallauris is a pottery region in south-eastern France, Picasso lived here from 1948 – 55 and greatly contributed to the renaissance of the pottery industry, this legendary golden age when everyone was a potter, including famous ceramicists Roger Capron and Charles Voltz. Their influence is clearly seen in the abstracted forms of pieces such as these handled bowls.

Picault had worked with Capron and was a friend of Picasso’s. His handpainted style used Mediterranean colours, turquoise blue, green and brown with repeated geometric abstract motifs. Each of these bowls has a different pattern, but are all united in the glazes used and motifs carried across each piece.

The handles of the largest 3 pieces have holes to allow for hanging, so could make a great wall or dresser display.

Would make a Fantastic addition to any collection of Vallauris / French / European / Studio pottery, and would complement any retro, vintage, mid century, 50’s, 60’s, Mediterranean, French or contemporary styled interior.

Vintage ‘Walk / Dont Walk’ New York crosswalk sign lenses, USA circa 1980’s

These are a Great Vintage Pair of ‘Walk Dont Walk’ plastic lenses from an American crosswalk / pedestrian crossing illuminated street sign.

Made by the Eagle Signal Company, they would have originally have been illuminated in a yellow metal housing, probably from New York or Chicago circa 1970’s / 80’s.

A Classic Retro design, they have now been replaced with symbol signs. The Orange and Blue plastic lenses are printed with a matte black coating, with cut out bold lettering. The backs are textured to diffuse the light.

Would be fantastic as industrial chic home / bar / shop decor, displayed in frames, lightboxes, on windows etc. Highly collectable vintage / retro Americana.

Good Condition, the plastic lenses are crack and chip free. The printed signs are worn in places, but this only adds to the vintage look when lit up!

This is a Beautiful Murano Sommerso faceted glass vase, made by Mandruzzato, Venice, Italy circa 1960’s / early 1970’s.

A Striking faceted design, beautifully and skillfully hand made, highlighting the best of Murano glass craftsmanship and technique with modern futuristic design.
The rectangular form is divided into 8 triangular facets, the clear glass exterior contains a submerged, Sommerso, pink layer highlighted by a halo of pale yellow glass.

A Beautiful geometric understated sculptural form which could be used as a single stem vase, desk paperweight or centrepiece, a fantastic space age, retro styled home accessory.

Catches the light amazingly through the facets and Sommerso layers.

Would complement any collection of art / Murano glass, and would look fantastic in any retro, vintage, 60’s, 70’s, minimal, modernist, mid century or contemporary styled interior.

In Excellent Condition, no marks, chips or scratches, still bears the original ‘Made in Murano, Italy’ foil label.

This is a Beautiful ceramic wall plaque, produced in Vallauris, France circa 1957 by the Helene Ugo Pottery, decor by Michel Barbier.

A Stunning Mid Century Modernist piece of Abstract / Picasso inspired French Art Pottery.  Hand incised and painted  pattern in a delightful bold Cubist design, with matte black and yellow glazes with a lovely smooth pumice / pebble feel and texture.

Set of 6 Retro Orange Plates 1960’s, ‘Fat Lava’ / Vallauris pottery

These are a stunning bright retro set of 6 Orange ceramic plates, made circa 1960’s.

Very Striking with their glossy Orange Majolica style glaze, mottled and flamelike with areas of black and grey, like burning embers. Very reminiscent of the late Sixties Pop Art era, and in the style of European potteries of the era in Vallauris (France), West German ‘Fat Lava’ and Dutch ceramics who all employed similar techniques and designs.

The bases are glazed in a contrasting black, with no markings.

Super stylish and Fantastic to have a set of six, perfect for adding a splash of vintage colour to any table or kitchen.

Would make a great addition to any collection of European pottery, and would complement any retro, vintage, modernist, pop art, kitsch, 60’s, 70’s or contemporary interior.

Sklo Union Chribska Glassworks ‘Cats Head’ vases, Josef Hospodka circa 1960’s

These are a Beautiful Pair of  Chribska Glassworks blown glass vases, Sklo Union, Czechoslovakia circa 1960’s.

A Stunning ‘off-hand’ design by Josef Hospodka, one of the leading designers of Czech glass, his sculptural pieces were inspired by developments in Murano and Scandinavia. The organic form, resembling a cat’s head could be used as a vase. In a double graduated coloured cased glass, similar to the Murano ‘Sommerso’ technique.

The greenish yellow and pinky red colours are bright and vibrant, and combined with the curved form, catch the light beautifully.

Would make a Great addition to any collection of Sklo, Czech or European Art Glass, and would complement any retro, vintage, mid century modern, 60’s, 70’s styled interior.

In Excellent Condition, a couple of tiny light scratches not noticeable on display.
